***An area of heavy, gusty thunderstorms has formed over the central sections of East Texas. The band of storms currently stretches from Gun Barrel City to Athens, to near Frankston , to south Tyler to Whitehouse, to Henderson and to just north of Mount Enterprise. These storms are producing very heavy rain, frequent lightning and brief gusty winds, possibly up to 55 mph in a few places, and possibly some scattered hail. They are drifting slowly to the south and will continue to affect Henderson, southern Smith, northern Cherokee and central and southern Rusk counties during the next hour. REST OF THIS AFTERNOON: Scattered, heavy gusty thunderstorms in the central and southern sections of East TX....Any thunderstorm can produce very heavy rain, causing some brief street flooding, frequent lightning causing some power outages and brief gusty winds of 40-55 mph causing some scattered tree damage....Temperatures in the 70s in rain areas, but in the 90s in areas of sunshine...Winds variable and gusty near thunderstorms..otherwise becoming N 6-12 mph.

TONIGHT: Thunderstorms ending in all but some extreme southern areas...otherwise partly cloudy and a little cooler....Lows near 70....Winds NNE 5-10 mph.

TUESDAY: Partly cloudy. Just a 20% chance of a few showers during the day for Deep East Texas. Cooler and less humid, and it will be felt thanks to a northeasterly wind. Low: 70. High: 89. Winds: NE 10 mph.

WEDNESDAY: Clouds increasing during the day. From partly cloudy during the day and mostly cloudy by evening. Showers and thunderstorms becoming possible by late evening and overnight. Chance of rain at 40%. Low: 70. High: 87. Winds: ESE 10 mph.
