Pittsburgh's Tom Savage has been named the Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week after a hard-fought 58-55 victory over the Duke Blue Devils.

In the Panthers' first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) victory, Savage threw for a career-high 424 yards on 23-of-33 passes, and tied a conference record with six touchdowns. The senior signal caller looked comfortable in the pocket, connecting with eight different receivers in the offensive showdown.

"I like the way he's approaching it and working," said head coach Paul Chryst on Savage. "I think he did some great things, I really do."

Savage and the Panthers will look to score their second ACC victory next weekend when they host the Virginia Cavaliers.
