Ohio State QB named Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week
Tyler, Texas (FOX51) — Ohio State quarterback, Kenny Guiton, has been selected as The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week for the fourth week of the college football season. Guiton is a fifth year senior who got his first college start at quarterback two weeks ago for an injured Braxton Miller. Guiton set a school record Saturday with six touchdown passes – all in the first half – in a blow out win over Florida A&M, 76-0. Guiton completed 24 of 34 passes for 215 yards. Guiton is a graduate of Aldine Eisenhower High School, Houston, Texas.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award, announced in 2012 by the Tyler Chamber and SPORTyler, recognizes the top offensive player in Division 1 football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity; specifically tenacity to persist and determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals.
In addition, the nominee must meet one or more of the following criteria: born in Texas and/or graduated from a Texas High School and/or played at a Texas-based junior college or four year D1 Texas college.
