ETX native, Texas A&M star cut by Dolphins
TYLER, TEXAS (FOX51) — Tuesday is the deadline for NFL teams to cut their team down to their 75-man roster.
Unfortunately, Jorvorskie Lane, a Lufkin native and former Texas A&M star, was released by the Miami Dolphins.
Lane, a fullback, played in all 16 games for the Dolphins last season. Out of those 16, he started five of them and scored three touchdowns.
Although he holds the career rushing touchdowns title for the Aggies with 49, Lane was critcized his senior year at A&M, when he only rushed for 93 yards, 687 yards less than the previous year. Many media reports think this could have been what caused Lane to go undrafted out of college.
In high school, Lane was a two-time all-state and was recruited by eight schools.
