At 3:35 p.m. CT Saturday on KETK NBC, the AFC Wild Card playoffs begin with a fantastic matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Kansas City Chiefs, the second meeting between these two teams in the last three weeks.

The Colts defeated the Chiefs 23-7 back on December 22 in Kansas City, but now they'll get to play in the comfy confines of Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Colts are 11-5, and have won three straight and four of their last five heading into this wild card playoff.

"I think if you check the last six Super Bowl winners, they got hot at the right time," Indianapolis defensive end Robert Mathis said. "That's what it's all about, getting hot at the right time."
The Chiefs roared out to a 9-0 start this season under new head coach Andy Reid, but Kansas City stumbled, losing five of their past seven games.

"It's the start of a new season. That's how the playoffs work," coach Andy Reid said. "You're in the dance, as they say. It's another phase of the season. You've worked very hard as a team to get into this position. Now it's important that you exhaust yourself to make sure you're right."

The Chiefs' Alex Smith has had a nice season at quarterback, throwing for 3,313 yards with 23 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Kansas City expects to have wide receiver Dwayne Bowe (concussion), linebacker Justin Houston (dislocated elbow) and left tackle Braden Albert (hyperextended knee) back from injury as they try to end a seven-game playoff losing streak.

Indianapolis has dropped three straight in the postseason after last season's 24-9 wild-card loss to eventual Super Bowl champion Baltimore.
