City of Tyler offers free youth tennis program
Tyler, Tx (FOX 51) — The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department will be offering weekly tennis classes June 10 through July 26 for children ages 6-15 years old. Participants will be placed in a class according to their skill level.
This award-winning program is beginning its 22nd year.
Coach Ronnie Blake, a local tennis professional, will be giving expert instruction. No registration is required; just show up at any site at 9 a.m. and the child will be placed in a beginner, intermediate or advanced class.
Locations offering tennis instructions:
Pollard Park, 710 E. Amherst Dr. – Mondays only
Bergfeld Park, 1510 S. College Ave. – Tuesday only
Fun Forest Park, 2000 Forest Ave. – Wednesdays only
John Tyler High School, 1120 NNW Loop 323 – Thursdays only
Faulkner Park, 410 W. Cumberland Road - Fridays only
After class placement has been established, instruction for beginners will be from 9 to 10 a.m.; intermediate will run 10 to 11 a.m.; and advanced will be from 11 a.m. to noon.
