Baylor loses LT to season-ending surgery; Signs point to former Kilgore Bulldog to fill shoes
Tyler, Texas (FOX51) — According to Craig Smoak of ESPN Central Texas, Baylor starting left tackle Spencer Drango is done for the season and will undergo back surgery, Tuesday.
Drango was named a first-team offensive lineman on the Capital One Academic All-District VII football team by holding a 3.62 GPA in finance and is a third-year sophomore. Drango is also a candidate for the Capital One Academic All-America team, which will be announced in December.
With Drango having season-ending surgery, signs point to former Kilgore Bulldog, Pat Colbert to take the reigns.
Colbert, a 6'5", 305 pound third-year sophomore, played in all 13 games as redshirt freshman as a special teams regular and reserve tight end/offensive lineman.
The No. 4 Bears (9-0) travel to Stillwater, Oklahoma, to take on the No. 10 Oklahoma State Cowboys (9-1), Saturday at 7:00 p.m., which will be Baylor's biggest test of the season so far.
