Update: Woman dies of injuries caused by drunk driver

UPDATE: A woman is dead following a late night wreck caused by a drunk driver, according to Tyler Police.

The wreck happened in the 9100 block of Paluxy near the fire station just before 9:30 Wednesday night. Two vehicles were involved.

The driver of one vehicle, Tara Dawn Smith, 36, had to be pulled from her crushed vehicle using the jaws of life. She was rushed into surgery at a Tyler hospital, but died on the operating table.

The other driver, Dallas Youmans, 21 -- pictured here in a mugshot from a previous arrest -- was arrested and booked into the Smith County jail for intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle.
 

Tyler Police tell Fox 51 crews on scene that there was no baby involved in the accident.

Two people were involved in the accident.

The jaws of life had to be used to pull a female victim from one of the cars.

She was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for serious injured.

Her condition is currently unknown at this time.

South bound lanes on Paluxy will be closed for an hour for the accident to be cleared.

Scanner reports indicate that a baby was possibly from one of the vehicles during the accident.

They say they have 10 units on the scene and are currently searching for the baby.
