The Wood County Sheriff's Office proudly announced their newest member to their department Tuesday morning. His name is Copper, a bloodhound puppy.

Deputy Copper will become the first member of the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue team. The K-9 will be primarily used to find lost children and track bad guys.

The rookie still has a lot of training in front of him, but Sheriff Jim Brown says he will be an asset that will benefit the entire area once the 8-week-old is ready.
