Woman's purse stolen in Longview parking lot

LONGVIEW, TX — An elderly woman had her purse snatched from her and now police are looking for the people responsible.

It happened on May 3, 2011 shortly after 11:00 a.m. on the 3600 block of McCann Road.

The victim told police she was walking towards a store when a truck drove by her with three unidentified males and stopped. Two of the men then got out of the truck and grabbed her taking her purse.

As the men were leaving they yelled "good luck" to the victim.

The truck is describe as a white, newer model truck, with some blue scratches or markings of some kind on the driver’s side door and was last seen heading North on McCann Road from the store parking lot.

She said the suspects were young males and two of them were wearing white t-shirts and blue jeans. The driver of the truck was wearing a plaid shirt and had a goatee.

The victim stated that she had cash and debit cards in her wallet. However, the most important thing for her to get back was the printed obituary pamphlet she had carried ij her purse since her husband’s death in 1993.
