Woman, child escape after fire starts at Longview home
Our News Partner, The Longview News Journal reports a woman and child escaped this morning unharmed after a fire started in their Longview home.
Fire Marshal Johnny Zackary said the pair were inside their Holly Street residence at about 11 a.m. when the blaze began in a back bedroom.
Crews have extinguished the fire and kept it from spreading further in the structure, but the home sustained significant smoke and heat damage, according to Zackary.
Zackary said he believes the fire was caused by misuse of an ignition source by the child.
