Woman arrested in connection with Quitman meth lab explosion
Quitman — Wood County deputies have arrested a woman in connection with the meth lab that exploded late last year.
On Thursday, officials issued a warrant for 29-year-old Shanda Gail Simmons, of Yantis, for her involvement with the meth lab found on County Road 2150 in Quitman.
On December 31, 2011, Simmons was discovered to be making meth along with Russell Love at a residence. When the lab exploded, Simmons suffered severe injuries and was taken to a Dallas hospital for treatment. Love was arrested at the scene.
Simmons was arrested by Deputies at a Quitman house at around 10:12 p.m. Thursday. She was booked into the Wood County Correction Facility for manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. Her bond was set at 25,000.
Simmons was released on Friday after making bond.
