Whitehouse police officer resigns following DWI arrest
Whitehouse, Tx (Fox 51) — A Whitehouse police officer resigned following his arrest on Valentine's Day for allegedly driving while intoxicated.
According to Whitehouse Police Chief Craig Shelton, Darrell Desmon Robertson, 39, resigned Thursday morning. Smith County Judicial records show Robertson was booked into jail at 2:42 a.m. and released on $500 bond at 3:55 a.m.
Robertson was stopped in his personal vehicle on FM 756 near Loop 49 after a trooper spotted his vehicle weaving and crossing the center line. After speaking with Robertson, the trooper arrested him for DWI with probable cause, according to Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman Jean Dark.
