The Cotton Belt Depot Museum held their annual model railroading show at the harvey convention center in Tyler Sunday, raising money to keep their doors open to the public.
For five years this event laid dormant until 2006, when the Cotton Belt Museum revived it, and in doing so they hope to revive the passion, for local history.
The room was filled with vast model sceneries, as visitors young and old, watched as miniature trains made their way through extremely life-like models.
Organizers tell KFXK this is the only fundraiser the cotton belt holds each year, but it draws enthusiasts from across the states, and Louisiana.
Many of the large sets were brought by train building clubs in shreveport.
Now the train enthusiasts KFXK spoke with say they were worried about this hobby slowly fading away, and they hope that the youngsters on hand will hold onto the day's memories, and pass them on down the track.
