Viking's Adrian Peterson’s ‘all day’ Foundation helps feed East Texans

Palestine, Texas — Adrian Peterson’s ‘all day’ Foundation will provide 300 food boxes to families in need. Adrian Peterson, officers and volunteers of the foundation will distribute the food boxes to families in the Palestine area.

“It is my honest belief that we should all help those less fortunate than ourselves. Whether this help is financial through appropriate donations or through donating your time as a volunteer doesn’t really matter, but we should all feel some social responsibility to do something,” said Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings Running Back and Palestine native. “Everyone can do something. YOU can do something. If you don’t have the time, DONATE. If you can’t afford to donate money, VOLUNTEER and offer your time or services.”

“The economy is hitting all areas of people’s lives. Prices have risen everywhere from gas to utilities, leaving very little money for groceries,” said Nelson Peterson, Vice President of Adrian Peterson’s ‘all day’ Foundation. “People are having a hard time right now. I’m proud of Adrian for many reasons but I’m especially proud that he has the heart and desire to want to help during this holiday season and give to needy families. I think that’s GREAT!”

“Greatness best describes Adrian Peterson on and off the football field. Martin Luther King Jr. said greatness is a good instinct if you use it right. And Adrian is using it right. So like Dr. King, I want him to keep feeling the need for being important and keep feeling the need for being first. But as Dr. King says, be first in love. I’m proud that it is as important to Adrian to be first in love as it is for him to be the #1 Running Back in the NFL. When I envision Dr. King’s definition of greatness I see Adrian. He’s not only GREAT because of his athletic ability, he is also GREAT because of his willingness to serve”, said a foundation volunteer. In the eyes of the 300 families that will receive the Thanksgiving Food Boxes from the Adrian Peterson ‘all day’ Foundation, I’m sure the same word will describe his service – GREAT!

Adrian Peterson along with officers and volunteers of the Adrian Peterson’s ‘all day’ Foundation will gather at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church located at 1007 S. Fulton St Palestine Texas 75801, on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm to distribute the Thanksgiving boxes to 300 Palestine families in need of assistance. The families were prequalified and received Thanksgiving food box vouchers. Families will present the vouchers and receive the Thanksgiving food box.

“Many examples have been set before us for what is best about this country – integrity, compassion, and a commitment to making life better for all people. Adrian Peterson’s good deed helps us to recall our social responsibility. Above all, it reminds us of the reason for this great Thanksgiving Holiday,” said Nelson Peterson.
