UPDATE: Victim identified in ETX plane crash

The victim has been has been identified as John Thomas Steeper, 64, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, according to the Texas DPS officials.

UPDATE (8:30am, Tuesday): According to information from Federal Aviation Administration preliminary reports, one person was killed in the plane that went down near Wells.
The person was flying alone.
The reports note that the plane is registered as number N67SR, out of Broken Arrow, OK.
Preliminary reports indicate that the plane was destroyed.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

UPDATE (8:00am, Tuesday): Authorities on the scene tell KETK, the plane crashed in 4700 block of Cheeseland Road in Pollok, not far from Wells.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford told KETK Tuesday morning that the number and condition of people who were on board the plane is not known at this time. However, the Lufkin Daily News reports that there are no apparent survivors.
Lunsford says that a plane that matches the time frame of the one that crashed is a Cessna 421, which was flying from Houston to Oklahoma at the time.
A plane that size could hold up to 6 passengers and 2 crew members.
The FAA is still investigating the crash, and tell KETK that the plane's tail number can not be released until the investigation is a little further along.

ORIGINAL STORY: Angelina County authorities are on the scene of a plane crash in Pollok.
Just before 10 o'clock Monday night, Angelina County authorities received a call about a possible plane crash near CR 415 and FM 1819 in Pollok. The caller reported seeing something "fall from the sky, heard a boom, and saw a fire."
Authorities spent hours searching and ended up finding the plane a little before midnight.
