Update: Victim of fatal Noonday fire identified

Monday, April 9, 2012 - 3:20pm

Noonday — The victim in Sunday's fatal RV fire in Noonday has been identified as Jody Jennings, 47.

The Smith County fire marshal believes that the fire may have started due to a mechanical fire with the RV's electrical system, but it will be several days before they have an official cause.

The smoke in an RV fire is extremely toxic, and can incapacitate those trying to escape.

Jennings' dog also died in the fire. Jennings had only lived in the RV for 10 days before the fire. Monday would have been her 48th birthday.

A fire at an RV park destroys a mobile home, killing a woman who was inside at the time.

The fire was at the Westberry Landing & RV Park.

Officials tell KETK that the woman who lived there and her dog reportedly died as a result of the fire.
Noonday, Dixie and Flint-Gresham fire crews responded to blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
