UPDATE: Two more suspects identified in Tyler aggravated robbery

UPDATE (Friday, January 18th): Tyler Investigators have identified two more individuals that are connected to the Aggravated Robbery of Food Fast that occurred on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

They are identified as Darryl Earl Daniels Jr., 23, of Tyler and Ashad Rael Coats, 25, of Tyler.

 

Tyler Police Department has an outstanding warrant for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a first degree felony, on both men.

Bond has been set at $100,000.  Additional charges are pending.

Jaqun Dawson, who was found with a gunshot wound on his lower right leg following the robbery, is still in a local hospital and will also be charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity. 

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the two above suspects involved in this crime is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
 

UPDATE (January 16th, 9:27am): A clerk at the convenience store that was robbed this morning was reportedly outside smoking when he reportedly was approached by two black males wearing all black clothing and ski masks, carrying handguns.

The men took the clerk inside the store and demanded cash from the register. A customer walked into the store during the robbery and was not harmed.  The suspects ran to the rear of the store when police were called.

Police searched the area and found one of the men lying in a wooded area with a gunshot wound in his lower right leg. Police found the gun and evidence linking him to the robbery.

The man was identified as Jaqun Jamel Dawson, 17, of Dallas.

Dawson was taken to a local hospital and was treated for his injury.  Investigators will be seeking an arrest warrant for Aggravated Robbery on Dawson later on Wednesday.

The second robber was not found after several hours of searching.

ORIGINAL STORY (7:08am): A potentially armed robber is on the run in Tyler this morning.

The robbery took place at Old Omen Road and University early this morning.

Tyler police tell Fox 51, that the clerk was outside smoking a cigarette when he was approached by two men with guns wearing ski masks.

The men then forced the clerk inside and took all of the cash in the register before running into the woods behind the store.

When police arrived they located one suspect who they believe shot himself, he is currently being treated at a local hospital.

Police searched for the second suspect but he was never found.
