UPDATE: Teen who opened fire in Smith County Juvenile Attention Center sentenced to 50 years

TYLER — KFXK crews in the courtroom report that Corey Webb has been sentenced to 50 years.


TYLER — A Missouri teen who admitted to shooting at officers inside the Smith County Juvenile Attention Center a year ago is back in court Tuesday for sentencing.

18-year old Corey Darnell Webb faces up to life in prison.

Kansas City police asked Tyler police to hold Webb for outstanding warrants. During that time, he pulled a gun from his backpack and began firing at an officer inside the attention center.

Judge Kerry Russell of the 7th District Court is the presiding judge.
