Monday UPDATE: After several days of investigation, Longview authorities have identified the body found near Buffalo Wild Wings as Ken Miguel Owsley, a 44-year-old white male.
The cause of death has not been released.
UPDATE: Police said this morning that they are close to making a positive identification of the body.
The body of a man — believed to have been dead more than 24 hours — was discovered Thursday just yards from one of Longview’s most highly-traveled intersections.
The body, lying face up at the base of a 15-foot limestone retaining wall, was found early afternoon by a customer of Buffalo Wild Wings, about 60 feet from the intersection of North Eastman Road and Hawkins Parkway and next to the Longview Towne Center.
Investigators said it appeared the man died at least a full day before his body was discovered.
