UPDATE: Lindale Police release identity of man killed in morning wreck

LINDALE — Lindale Police have released the name of the victim in Thursday morning's wreck on FM 16.

The man is identified as 62-year old Terry Grant.

Glenn McLain was driving the other vehicle in the accident, but survived with only minor injuries.


Authorities report the dump truck was westbound on FM 16 when the driver ran off the road and was ejected from the vehicle. Identification is pending notification of family. The dump truck is owned by BMD Trucks, a local trucking company.

Two vehicles were involed in this accident. Officials think the dump truck driver was trying to avoid the other car when they collided. The driver of the other car had minor injuries.


Smith County Fire officials tell KFXK that a traffic accident on FM 16 in Lindale is forcing authorities to block the roadway.

Details are limited at this time. No word on how many cars or what injuries may be involved.

Traffic is backing up on FM 16.
