Longview, TX — UPDATE (Monday, November 19th, 11:08am): Longview Police have identified the man who allegedly shot and killed Barbara Lorena Hudson, 39, of Longview on Saturday.
Police tell FOX 51, Byron Marcel Houston, 30, was initially reported to have had an argument with Hudson on Saturday, November 17th just before 2:00pm at a house on the 1000 block of North Third St. in Longview.
Houston allegedly shot Hudson one time in the back. She was later pronounced dead at a Longview hospital.
After investigating, officials say that Houston had reportedly been joking around with Houston, and pointed a loaded gun at her, as he had done many times before.
However, this time, the gun fired, and killed Hudson.
Houston has been arrested for manslaughter, and was taken to the Gregg County jail.
UPDATE (Monday, Nov. 19th, 7:00am): The identity of the woman killed in Saturday's fatal shooting in Longview has been identified.
KTBB reports, the woman is 39 year old Barbara Hudson.
The Longview News-Journal reports that Hudson was in an argument with the shooter in the house when the shooting occurred.
Hudson died in a Longview hospital following the incident.
ORIGINAL STORY (Saturday, Nov. 17th): Longview Police are looking for the suspect of a shooting that killed one person Saturday.
Officer Kristie Brian tells FOX 51 she started getting calls around 2 p.m. to the 1100 block of Third Street.
One person was sent to the hospital, where they later died.
The name has not yet been released.
Police say the suspect got away, and at this time they don't have a description of the suspect.
