Tyler Public Library Hosts Spring Book Sale

Thursday, February 28, 2013 - 3:14pm

The Tyler Public Library will hold their Annual Spring Book Sale from Thursday, March 14 to Sunday, March 17 in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium. The sale will take place during regular operating hours; Thursday 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m., Friday 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and Sunday 1-4:30 p.m.

Hundreds of books, audio books, videos, text books and other Library resources will be sold for $1 or less. On Sunday, the Library will provide cardboard boxes that can be filled for $5 and paper grocery bags to fill for $2. Many of the materials for sale include donations which do not meet the Library’s current needs, are duplicate copies, or are not fit to go into circulation.

The proceeds from the sale go toward the purchase of new or replacement items for the Library’s collection and support youth programs. Donations of gently used materials are accepted by the Library year round.

This event is powered by volunteers and is a great opportunity for youth to gain service hours needed for school while out on Spring Break. Volunteers can help set up for the event from March 11 to 13 or assist during the sale. To sign up, contact Volunteer Tyler at (903) 531-1100 or www.volunteertyler.com.

Tyler Public Library is located at 201 S. College in downtown Tyler. More information about the sale can be found on the Library website: www.TylerLibrary.com or by calling (903) 593-7323.
