Tyler — On 05-30-2011 at 8:55 pm, Tyler Police Officers were dispatched to 1500 E. Commerce Street in reference to a major traffic accident.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that a Nissan Xterra had struck a utility pole and was on fire. The fire was quickly extinguished by the Tyler Fire Department.

A male subject that was believed to be the driver of the vehicle was transported to ETMC for treatment. At this time, the reason for the crash is unclear. This case is still being investigated.
