Tyler man threatens to kill parents at knife point

tyler — On Tuesday at approximately 2:18 a.m., Tyler Police received a call from a female in Houston, Texas advising that her nephew, Gerald Hicks was holding his parents hostage at 3210 Tulsa in Tyler.

The caller advised that Hicks was holding a knife to the victims throats and threatening to kill them.

Officers responded to this address and were able to make entry to the residence where Gerald Hicks was detained.

After interviewing the two victims it was confirmed that Hicks had indeed threatened to kill them with a large kitchen knife.

The father sustained a non-life threatening cut to his hand during the incident.

Hicks was arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail on two counts of Aggravated Assault.
