Tyler, TX (FOX 51) — A Tyler man has been sentenced to federal prison today for drug trafficking in East Texas, according to U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.
Marco Aguliera, 34, who pleaded guilty on September 4, 2012, was sentenced to 40 months for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and 60 months for having a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider ordered the sentences to be served consecutively for a total of 100 months in federal prison.
According to court documents, in March 2012, Aguilera was caught with meth in his Tyler apartment. He admitted to working with others to distribute more than 150 grams of meth in the Tyler area.
A federal grand jury returned an indictment on April 11, 2012, charging Aguilera with federal violations.
