Tyler ISD schools to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

Tyler – Students from several Tyler ISD schools will celebrate Cinco de Mayo, the fifth of May, a few days early since the holiday falls on Saturday this year.
Students and parents at Bell Elementary Global Communications Academy will enjoy food, games, pictures and a Cinco de Mayo performance by the fifth grade students on Tuesday.
On Thursday, the pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade students from Bonner Elementary School will present a program, which will include singing and dancing, in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.
Finally, Orr Elementary School’s Latin Ensemble and Violins will record a performance for the Cinco de Mayo Celebration on the radio station 92.3 FM on Friday. The 20 minute program, which will include three Mexican pieces of music, will air on Saturday, May 5 at 11:20 a.m.
