Tyler Dollar General store robbed at gunpoint

On 05-30-2011 at 5:15 p.m., Tyler Police Officers were dispatched to 4031 S. Broadway (Dollar General Store) in reference to an aggravated robbery.

It was reported that a black male entered the store and began walking around.

The suspect then approached one of the employees near the back of the store. The suspect displayed a handgun and told the employee that he just wanted money. The suspect had his face covered with a blue bandana.

The suspect followed the employee to an office and took an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect fled the store and headed southbound.

Several Tyler Police Officers were near the location and responded within minutes.

The suspect was not located at this time.

The suspect is described as an older black male. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, tan cargo shorts, black shoes, and a black and white ball cap.
