Tyler bus stops could be changing
TYLER - Tyler city officials say current bus routes are close to ten years old. Many argue a big problem is the central meeting location, Bergfeld Center off Broadway in Tyler.
A consulting company spent a week looking at Tyler's current bus routes and found there are more than 200 stops for the five buses Tyler has right now.
Barbara Holly, with Tyler's metropolitan planning organization, says the new plan cuts it down almost in half.
in addition to the route changes, Holly says the plan will include 20 new shelters at various bus stations.
Officials say, the cost for new shelters will be paid for with the American Recovery Act.
