Nacogdoches, TX — The arson and criminal mischief trial for Steven Lynn Skidmore began this morning after a jury was selected last week.
Skidmore allegedly set fire to a woman’s home in December 2010.
His case had been set for jury selection earlier this year, but a re-indictment in January adding a second count of criminal mischief was done, pushing the trial date.
Assistant District Attorney Lauren Gaston declined to comment on the re-indictment, withholding comment on the case until it is completed.
According to the most recent indictment, Skidmore is charged in count one with arson after starting a fire at a home located in the 10100 block of FM 1878, with intent to destroy the home and the property inside.
