Texas volunteer firefighter sets church on fire
Hamby — A Hamby volunteer firefighter is behind bars after he was arrested for arson.
24-year old Taylor Partain, who is a lieutenant with the Hamby Volunteer Fire Department, was taken into custody this morning after the Taylor County Sheriff's Office said he admitted to starting a fire.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. at the Hamby United Methodist Church. An outer wall of the building was damaged.
The pastor of the church says that Partain was not a member and doesn't know why he chose this place of worship to commit arson.
Partain is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Hamby is located about 10 miles northeast of Abilene, Tx.
