Texas man accused of killing girlfriend, son in hotel room
MCALLEN, Texas — A Texas man is in custody after he allegedly killed his girlfriend and shot her two sons, killing one of them.
Brandy Cerney's family told investigators they last saw the 28-year-old mother on father's day Sunday. They grew worried when she didn't show up for work the following day. Yesterday, Arthur Washington found her body in a shed behind a home on Dunlap street in El Campo.
Investigators say when Cerny's family reported her missing, information led them to Laredo where Cerny's boyfriend DeMond Bluntson was staying in a hotel.
That's where Cerny's two children were also found. Police say 36-year-old Bluntson is the father of 21-month-old Davian who was killed. Cerny's other son 6-year-old Jaydin was critically injured.
Officers heard gunshots as they approached the Laredo hotel. Some of the bullets even went through the door of the room.
As for the scene in El Campo, the police chief says they have few witnesses.
The chief says relatives describe their relationship as on again and off again. The chain of events has shaken the small community. Even the police chief says it's been about eight years since they've dealt with a crime of this scale.
