On June 3, 2010 at around 1:35 p.m., Longview Officers responded to the Harley’s Cut-Rate Liquor store at 904 East Cotton Street for a report of an armed subject.

Store employees told emergency dispatchers that a man was inside the store with a gun in his pants. As the store employees remained on the phone with dispatchers, they reported that the suspect dropped a second gun on the floor and didn’t notice, because he appeared intoxicated.

Officers arrived within minutes, located the suspect and arrested him. Officers seized a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun from Stewart and also a .22 caliber revolver from a store employee. The suspect, Gerald Scott Stewart, was booked into the Gregg County Jail for unlawful carry of a weapon on a licensed premise
