Stolen NFL, college championship rings among items recovered in search of BR home

Three people were arrested during the execution of a search warrant yesterday. Among the items seized were 4 football championship rings, including three from LSU and one from the NFL.

The Baton Rouge Police Department reports that the search happened on Wednesday, July 10 at a home on Peerless Street in Zion City. Officers searched the home in an attempt to gain evidence for a homicide investigation.

During the search officers located 4 pounds of marijuana, 10 doses of Hydrocodone, 1 NFL Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Ring, 1 2004 LSU National Championship Ring, 1 2005 LSU Peach Bowl Ring, 1 2007 LSU Sugar Bowl Ring, 1 handgun, 1 shotgun and an undisclosed amount of money.

Courtney Henderson, 26, Rashee Scruggs, 30, and Jessie Scruggs, 60, were all arrested.

Henderson was charged with PWITD Marijuana, Possession of a firearm with CDS, Obliterated Serial Number, and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.

Rashee Scruggs was charged with second Offense Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Hydrocodone, Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Justice.

Jessie Scruggs was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Hydrocodone.

The bowl ring theft is currently being investigated by the East Baton Rouge Sheriff Office.
