Smith County officials arrest man involved in Hideaway investigation
Hideaway, Texas (FOX 51) — An arrest has been made in a Hideaway theft investigation.
Smith County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division served an arrest warrant charging Christopher Eugene Meador, 44, with charges of theft in conjunction to a 4-month-long investigation.
The investigation has been focused on an individual who was employed by Hideaway and was not all-encompassing investigation into Hideaway.
The arrest warrant was issued by Judge Christi Kennedy of the 114th Judicial District Court, relating to documents that were allegedly falsified regarding tree-cutting services Meador was connected with inside Hideaway, a gated community near Interstate 20 in Smith County.
The allegations include that Meador, more than once, verbally contacted an individual for sole right to cut trees in the community, providing that Meador received a portion of the money.
Meador's bond is set at $10,000 and he is currently being booked into Smith County Jail.
