East Texans learn how to cut a rug for Valentine's Day
TYLER - Jake and Ginger Cardwell were among the dozens of couples that showed up Sunday at TJC to learn some "Salsa" moves just in time for the holiday of love - Valentine's Day.
"Actually, I bought the tickets and didn't tell him. I think I was the first person to purchase them on PayPal and I just bought them and said 'guess what we're doing!'" Ginger Cardwell said.
The 2-hour workshop was taught by a well-known dance instructor from Dallas. They call him Carlos Garcia, "The Zumba Beast."
In addition to "Zumba," Garcia is an expert on "LA Style" salsa dancing.
For Jake Cardwell, the workshop worked.
"I don't think I'll remember everything they threw at me, but I feel confident on the basic salsa steps. Now I can go have a good time in Dallas or something doing it," Jake Cardwell said.
