Another new business officially opened its doors to east Texans this week.

Plato's Closet, located on Southeast Loop 323 in Tyler just off Broadway, held it's Grand Opening Thursday.
The popular resale shop is franchised at more than 260 locations nationwide, and sells gently-used teen and young adult apparel and accessories.

The Tyler location co-owner Julii Baack says the store pays cash on the spot for ready-to-wear items.
Baack says the store focuses on styles that are 18 months old or newer, along with brands found at Target and Old Navy, all the way up to Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and everything in between.

She said Thursday's opening brought in a slew of customers.

"Yesterday we had a line of about 70 people before we opened," Baack said. "We opened at about 10 yesterday, and I know we checked out over 500 customers."

Baack says store items are sold at about 70 percent off the original retail price.

Customers are offered between 35 and 40 percent of the items' selling price.

Sellers are asked to bring in their items off the hangers and in some type of container.

Associates sort through it and offer a cash amount before you leave.
