According to David Smoak, owner of and program director at ESPN Central Texas, multiple sources have confirmed Pine Tree Independent School District officials are visiting Lake Travis High School Monday afternoon to meet Cavaliers' offensive coordinator David Collins, who is their choice to become Pine Tree High School's new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.

Smoak reports terms of a contract have been finalized, based on school board approval.

Collins, 36, has been coaching for 14 years with his last three years spent as the offensive coordinator at Lake Travis. He's also been an offensive coordinator at Mabank and Garland, and an assistant coach for one year at Allen in 2003.

Collins is a graduate of Mabank High School and Sterling College in Kansas.

If approved by the school board, Collins will succeed Interim AD/Football Coach Derrick Hennigan, who replaced Derek Fitzhenry. Fitznhenry resigned during the 2013 football season.

The Pine Tree school board will meet to finalize his contract next week.
