Price of Nacogdoches gas spill hits $400,000

Nacogdoches, TX — The bills are in and Morgan Oil Company is paying a hefty price tag for the gas spill that happened in early March, and the company is waiting for final approval of closure from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
At about 2:30 p.m. March 7, a Morgan Oil Company truck driver hit a pole at The Depot Chevron station and tore a valve off the tank, spilling more than 2,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline, which flowed into nearby Banita Creek.
The final bill was staggering for Morgan Oil Vice President Doug Jordan: about $400,000.
