Thanks to numerous leads from tipsters who saw footage from Walmart surveillance video, the Tyler Police Department has recovered the guns stolen from a local business.

On Monday, four rifles were taken from the Walmart on the 3800 block of Hwy. 64 West.

Surveillance video shows a white man breaking into the case in the sporting goods section and removing the rifles. A white woman acted as a lookout during the theft.

The thieves placed the rifles into a shopping cart along with a gun bag and hunting jacket, then left the store without paying for the items. They left the store in a silver Dodge or Chrysler mini-van with only one hubcap on the left rear wheel.

Information received led detectives  to a location in town where the weapons were possibly dropped off. Investigators recovered all four of the weapons from the location.

Authorities are continuing with the investigation and warrants are expected to be issued in the future for people believed to be the acting criminals.
