Police nab copper thieves

On Wednesday at 12:56 a.m., an Officer with the Tyler Police Department observed a suspicious vehicle pull around to the rear of the Gander Mountain store located at 151 Market Square.

A male and female occupant of the vehicle was observed with various tools in their possession along with a large amount of copper pipe that had been freshly cut. Upon further investigation, it was found that the copper pipe had been cut from the roof of the Gander Mountain store.

23-year-old Jordan Kyle Wilson and 34-year-old Karrie Gomez were arrested and booked into the Smith County Jail for Theft of the copper pipe.
