Longview Police Detectives have arrested two men in connection with a burglary at a car wash.

Officers responded to the Soapies car wash at 1010 Wal Street on May 27, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. for a report of a commercial burglary. The car wash manager reported that sometime during the night, someone forced open a door to the office area and took a safe, money and a gray security monitor.

Detectives soon received information that Johnny Vonesh and Billy Lawson had committed the burglary. With this information, detectives were able to recover the stolen safe where it had been discarded on an oil lease road off of FM 2879 in Gregg County. Detectives obtained arrest warrants on June 9, 2010 from Gregg County Justice of the Peace B.H. Jameson. Vonesh was arrested at the Lone Star Hotel and Lawson was arrested at his home at 515 Arkansas Street.

Both men have been booked into the Gregg County Jail for burglary of a building.
