Police ‘Blue Santas’ brighten childrens’ Christmas

Tyler, Tx — Tyler Police Officers will demonstrate their Christmas spirit as they become ‘Blue Santas’ for 30 children from the Child Advocacy Center on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. Each child will have their own police officer to help them shop for their special Christmas present at the Walmart on Troup Highway.
“These children have been through a lot this year, so we want to help ensure they have a wonderful Christmas,” said Officer Don Martin. “We want them to feel comfortable with the Police Officers and know that we are here to help them anytime they need us.”
Funds for the presents are provided by the Fraternal Order of Police.
The media is invited; but please do not take video or pictures of the children’s faces as they are protected by foster care.
If you have any questions, please contact Officer Don Martin at (903) 531-1072.
