On Saturday around 7 p.m., officers were dispatched to a pedestrian/motor vehicle accident in the 1500 block of East Marshall Ave.

The pedestrian who was struck and killed has been identified as 58-year-old Christopher Moody Smith of Longview.

Police investigation found that Smith was crossing the roadway in a dimly lit area, not in a crosswalk, and was wearing dark clothing.
