"The repetitive weight is what damages the roads," said Doyle Williams, road and bridge administrator. "They were designed for more residential use."
According to Williams, his department has been busy the last few months with repairs.
"We've completed 22 roads so far this summer," said Williams.
Summer months are ideal for repairs because of the hot and dry conditions.
"The weather needs to be dry and hot, because the oil will come up in clumps if it's wet," said Williams. "The work is influenced by the weather - if it rains, we have to hold off."
The road and bridge department recently worked on CR 448 in Chireno. EOG Resources Inc. paid $40,000 for repairs to this road, according to Williams.
