Clarksville City, Tx (Fox 51) — The fire chief and volunteer firefighters of the Clarksville City – Warren City Volunteer Fire Department were relieved of duty Oct. 2 by the executive board that oversees the department.
Richard Rogers, the board president, said the board voted unanimously to lock all members out of the fire station on Texas Street in Clarksville City.
Rogers declined comment on the reason for the re-organization, but said the board is working hard to develop a new fire fighting department.
"The new fire department is currently being organized and will probably be complete within a few days," Rogers said.
The Clarksville City – Warren City VFD was led by Fire Chief Ricky Wallace, who declined comment.
However, Wallace said Wednesday he resigned from the department.
Rogers said Wallace did not resign, but was fired along with the rest of the volunteers.
"He didn't resign to me, and I didn't receive a letter of resignation," Rogers said.
Until the time a new department is established, the White Oak Fire Department will respond to any fire emergency in the cities.
