'No Hungry Children' festival to feed children in Tyler

The Second Annual " No Hungry Children" Benefit Festival will be held in Tyler’s Bergfeld Park from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 18th.

The festival will help feed hungry children in Tyler and in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya at the same time.

Admission is 3 non-perishable food items per person.

The family event will feature kids activities such as bounce houses, face-painting, a dunking booth and more. Event-goers can bid on over 100 Silent Auction items throughout the day, or bid at the Live Auction at 2:30 pm with former Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith serving as auctioneer.

Nationally-known Christian band Luminate will take the stage at Bergfeld Park at 3 pm and Tyler musicians will provide entertainment throughout the day beginning at 10:00 a.m.

A 5K and Kids Fun Run kicks the morning off at 8:30 a.m. Runners can register online at nhctyler.org/5k or at

All food collected will be distributed to feed children in East Texas through St. Paul Children’s Foundation. Funds raised will go directly to feeding children in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya, through No Hungry Children’s feeding program where just one dollar feeds one child for one entire week.
