Quitman, Texas — Wood County residents of all ages were invited to the celebration and dedication of the new East Texas Medical Center in Quitman. After hospital administrator Warren Robicheaux said a few words, the public was taken on a tour of the new facility's state of the art patient and procedure rooms by hospital officials.
Robicheaux says this new facility will allow patients to have a more convenient hospital visit. Robicheaux explains, "Our current facility has parts of it that date back as far as the 1950s so we're very excited to have a brand new hospital. It's double the size of our current facility and we have everything under one roof now so patients no longer have to travel one part of the facility to the other."
It has taken almost a year to complete this facility which provides services such as an emergency, imaging, and surgery department all under one roof. Patients can start coming to this hospital on July 15.
