Monday, December 10, 2012 - 7:00pm

Downtown Tyler will be a hub of holiday activities Thursday, Dec. 13 as the Downtown Tyler Museums Alliance holds its fifth annual holiday open house event from 4 to 8 p.m. Five downtown museums will open their doors free to the public with historic reenactors, refreshments, activities and special exhibits.

As part of the events, Gallery Main Street, at 110 W. Erwin, will hold a reception for the opening of, “The Fine Arts Jury Exhibition.” This show will feature the work of Dana Adams, Joan Iverson, Maureen Killaby and Curtis Watson, who are the Fine Arts Jurors responsible for selecting the pieces that the gallery displays throughout the year. The exhibit will showcase both two and three-dimensional works with mediums ranging from ceramics to oil paintings.

“The quality and execution of the art work for this show is truly spectacular,” said Gallery Curator Ashley Foxx. “We encourage visitors to make a visit to Gallery Main Street a part of their evening.”

In addition to the art on display, Foxx added that singer-songwriter Maegan Brooks will provide musical entertainment including a Christmas-themed playlist to add to the festive downtown atmosphere.
