New charges for man involved in Smith County Officer shooting

SMITH COUNTY — From Tyler Police:

Tyler Police Investigators have now secured evidence that has led to obtaining an arrest warrant on Christopher Summerville for the Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, a first degree felony.

The incident occurred on March 24, 2011 when he shot a Smith County Deputy who was attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Summerville at the Arbors Apartments. Summerville has also been charged with Manufacture or Delivery of Controlled Substance and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, both are a first degree felony.

Kara Hanley and Jeffery Andrysiak have also been charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a first degree felony.
